A couple of weeks ago I ordered this floral shirt from Zara online, and waited, eagerly, for it to come into stores so I could put it on, tuck it into high-waisted denims and swan about town like the young fashionista I think I am.

But when I went in and finally saw it in the flesh, it was, well, not what I expected. Instead of the crisp cotton of my floral shirt dreams, it was a soft polyester, like a man-made silk – and it was almost shiny. Ugh. I did not like. And so I returned.

But now, I see that the blogging world has made this shirt their must-have of December / January – and I feel a tinge of regret. Then I think again; I think, “well, if they all have it, it must be very trendy, and not at all cool, like I thought it was”. See how I manage to turn things around? Still, I do like the cut of Karen‘s jib.
