I had this, like, totally deep thought this morning while sitting at my desk and mulling over a photograph I saw of Celestine Cooney on Facebook wearing these Isabel Marant* jeans with the dirtiest, scruffiest looking Nike high tops I have ever seen.

This is not Celestine, for the record, and those are not scruffy high tops. This is Columbine, who’s also quite amazing.

But anyway, after I, like, had this amazing thought I saw that Angela Scanlon, another wan who I think has the cool / scruffy ratio down pat, was featured on Stockholm Street Style.

I love this look – fab! And it’s made me think that, from now on, I need to go a little scruffier, a little edgier, a little less together. (Not, that is to say, that I’m entirely together the rest of the time.)

* I had a dream last night that I was in Barneys buying those now-sold-out Isabel Marant runners. The dream simultaneously made me miss my sister (we were in New York) and yearn for those now utterly unattainable shoes. Sob.
