You’ll have to admit, if someone were to tell your 10-years-ago self that Victoria Beckham, or Posh Spice, as she was better known, would become one of the best selling and well respected female designers of the noughties, would you have believed them? I’m not sure I would have, despite my grá for her determinedly sleek aesthetic and that line in Spice World: the Movie, when she falls in the Thames and goes, “this dress is dry-clean only!” Oh, how we laughed.

Who’s laughing now? If these shots, from Fashion Foie Gras (and if you don’t read Fashion Foie Gras you are madder than a mad thing – I don’t know how this girl has time to work and blog but as to the latter she blogs non-stop, all day every day and her posts are always entertaining and informative) are anything to go by, Vicky B’s laughing her head off from her mansion, with no worries about ever having a quiet day again. Her new collection, to put it simply, looks astounding.

I love the colours, I love the fabric of the handbag, I love how everything and nothing goes. I’d always thought, if I suddenly found myself with a few spare thousand, that I’d be spending them on Isabel Marant; now I’m not quite sure. This is the celebrity line to end all celebrity lines – this, Gwen Stefani / Nicole Richie / Fearne Cotton (etc etc) is how it’s done.
