Yes, I’m talking about summer; the terrible thing about working in this industry is that you spend your whole time wishing for the arrival of the coming season. Just as A/W has arrived – a season I’ve been dying for since, oh, March – the catwalks have filled up with S/S 2012′s selections, and I just want to dress myself up like something out of a terrifying, brilliant Ashish / Jonathan Saunders / Henry Holland mash-up.

In any case, seeing this image of Miranda Kerr from Elle‘s homage to the Victoria’s Secret models made me yearn for the summer and the beach holiday I am determined to have next year, when I will deck myself out in swimwear from Black Milk and jewellery from God-knows-where.

Amazing, mais non? I also love how, in this selection of pics, the team at Elle didn’t bother cleaning up all the stray grains of sand from, say, Kerr’s knee and her foot – it makes it look that little bit cooler, that little bit more devil-may-care, that little bit more real.

I’ve just realised that I’m sitting at my kitchen table about to go to work and, having spent the last half hour catching up on my fashion blogs, am entirely unhappy with what I’m wearing. Oh well.
