So yesterday I watched the kids in my neighborhood light an enormous bonfire, basically in their back gardens, into which they threw everything they could get their grubby little mitts on – including, but not limited to, bangers and fireworks that then made very loud and frightening noises while members of our loyal police force lurked on the sidelines, tutting.

Against this backdrop of societal bliss, I thought about the posh deodorant I bought last time I was in the airport, La Roche Posay Deodorant Physiologique 24H, and rued the day I ever thought myself posh enough to buy and use posh deodorant. Well, I have certainly learned my lesson. (In case you weren’t getting it, this is going to be the first review in which I really didn’t like the product. Shocker!)

I fell for that old chestnut of, if it’s more expensive it will be better, and, boy, was I sorry. This sold itself as something that would practically eradicate my sweat glands – except in French, which made it even more believable. In reality, it did nothing. It was not a deodorant – there was no odour masking, odour removal, odour changing at all - and nor was it an anti-perspirant as, hello, I was still sweating! If I’m going to keep sweating I’d rather smell like Sure than like sh*t, thanks.
