Competition: make-up course with Ellie Balfe

    Rosemary Mac Cabe

If you don’t know, Ellie Balfe is a make-up artist extraordinaire but also, and obviously I love this part, a blogger who has a really great blog where she talks about things she loves, things she doesn’t, interiors, weddings . . . there’s something really lovely and calming about it. Hop on over and you’ll see what I mean!

I’ve had the pleasure of working with her twice and can tell you that she brings that lovely, calming feel into her everyday interactions too – which is why I’m so happy to be giving away a space on one of her make-up courses this Saturday from 11am to 2pm, the Mama Makeover.

Basically, it’s a class where Ellie shares with you the things she loves, the things she doesn’t and shows you ways to perk up and brighten tired skin for busy women who don’t have time to do the whole nine yards every morning. It’s open to everyone, mamas or no, as Ellie says, “we don’t sit around and talk about labour or breastfeeding”! Like the sound of it?

    To enter:

    1. Leave a comment below – remember to use your everyday email address so I can contact you!

    2. Tweet about the competition using the hashtag #ellieloves – make your tweet amusing, you know how I love that!

The competition will close at midnight on Thursday, November 3rd. No correspondence will be entered into.

    • Niamh Staines says:

Would give my right (perfectly manicured) hand to get a place on this course!!

    • Áine O Donovan says:

I’m a bridesmaid in August and a bride in October- a course like that is exactly what I need to see me through all the celebratory nights out, the hens and both weddings!!

    • Dena Walker says:

I am a very busy and very tired woman and it is showing on my face – I currently have the WORST dark circles I can remember. Also, I am becoming very frustrated by only have two make-up looks (if you exclude “the horror” which is what I call my make-up-less face, at the moment).

    • Susan says:

I love Ellie’s blog too! Great competition, fingers crossed :) x

    • Niamh says:

Love Ellie’s blog – have just finished my PhD thesis and have emerged from the library, blinking, wondering how I can quickly look like a member of the human race again rather than a bookworm! A make up course would be just perfecto! N

    • SJ says:

A big fan of Ellie’s , would really love to do this course.

    • claire says:

Would love to attend this class, avid reader of Ellie’s blog. Would love to learn how to apply makeup properly after all the years messing with it and stop wasting all those €€€ on products that don’t suit me.

    • Pauline says:

I’m the daughter of an overtired, overworked, not so well, undermakeuped (i’m claiming this word) woman in her 50′s who would still like to look like a woman in her 50′s but a more manicured, put together, fresher, Ellie Balfeised (another claim) version. She deserves all the pampering in the world & could really do with a pick me up & a day spent hanging with the girls.

      PICK MY MOM!

      Thank you & good day.

    • Anna says:

Ah Pauline – I love your post!! Pick her mam Rose!

    • CherrySue says:

Would love to be considered for this. Love Ellie and all she does and could se-here-iously do with a couple of lessons on a great makeup look in a hurry.

Could you throw my anim in please?

    • Sarah says:

Oh I love her blog, it’s such an amalgam of beautiful things and great tips. Would adore this!
