On Saturday night, Miss University Ireland, Holly Carpenter, was crowned Miss Ireland 2011, in the world’s longest running beauty pageant. Why on earth we would think that something to be proud of is beyond me.

Broadsheet did quite a good job of summing up the realities of the pageant here – but for now, we can mull over Holly’s bright future, launching wedding fairs and doing Celebrity Salon 2011.

I respect my readers’ intelligence not to go into a long tirade of the why I dislike the Miss Ireland pageant so much; but tell me, are you pro or con? Then take a look at this picture, and answer again.
