When I was younger, I was, quite literally, always counting down to the next big thing. In my childhood, these “big things” weren’t that many: mainly, Christmas, Easter and Halloween, in that order of importance. Now, I seem to spend my time waiting for the next season, for strictly sartorial reasons. As soon as new lookbooks emerge, I want the season to turn so that I can abandon my bare legs / opaques / knitwear / light cottons (delete as applicable). Today’s culprit? Zara‘s A/W 2011 TRF selection!

This beautiful berry mac is just to die, as all the best pain-in-the-ass fashion folk would say.

This reminds me a lot of Carey Mulligan, who – did you know this? – has broken up with Shia LeBeouf and is now, allegedly, engaged to someone else!

I know this is just your common-or-garden mac, and nothing particularly original or special (although what is, these days?), but this photograph is just gorgeous. I love her awkward angles, and the hint of knee sock is just right. Gorgeous.
