I think M&S really comes into its own in the colder seasons, when they can rock out the ladylike silhouettes and sumptuous fabrics. Summer? Just a whole load of middle-class English tea dresses; autumn, on the other hand, seriously rocks for the British high street giant.

Sudden thought! Perhaps I will wear my maxi dress tomorrow, with a sweater over it! And a belt! Then I remember, I have very few sweaters. I need more sweaters. And a patterned maxi. IN FACT, perhaps I need everything in this photograph. Let’s move on!

This reminds me mightily of a coat that Emma got last year, and I loved it then. I love this now. And are those metallic shoes?!

Okay, so let’s face it, pleather trousers are not going to be my friend, but these are lovely. Just lovely.

Gorgeous, boxy coat. Very Cos, mais non?

More leather trousers. This look reminds me of Cici Cavanagh. I am now quite depressed and off to do some sit-ups.
