Did you watch Britain and Ireland’s Next Top Model last night? I’ll admit, I did – and I even, for a blissful moment, was joined by my housemate, who doesn’t watch television and merely came in to keep my company and make pithy comments about the bawling youngsters dying for their 10 seconds of fame on Elle McPherson’s reality TV show.

Anyway the point is, should you be feeling left out, it’s not too late for you – especially (and, really, only) if you’re over 25, because Derek Daniels of Assets modelling agency* has launched a competition for the over-25 model, called The Face of Woo Woo. I know that name seems quite bizarre, but it’s in conjunction with pre-mixed cocktail brand, Woo Woo, so that explains the name, and, eh, this:

In any case, the competition is open until July 11th – you can see details on the website here – and the winner will receive a marketing contract with Woo Woo (try saying that 10 times, fast) and be put on Assets’ books, as well as getting a photoshoot with Lili Forberg, who’s one of Ireland’s top photographers and really, really nice to boot.

Plus – and this is really the icing on the cake - I will be judging! And I am very picky, but also quite lovely, and will be looking out for someone with that little somethin’ special, not too much fake tan, and the kind of ambition you need to succeed in the industry. (I will, of course, be using it as an excuse to say things like that all the time.)

Does it make anyone else sad that there is a special modelling competition for the over-25s? It’s like modelling for geriatrics, except, well, I think 25 is quite  young, for the record!

* The only agency making money at the moment, as I overheard from industry insiders this weekend.
