True Blood season 4 premiere – the shtyle (and the shpoilers)

    Rosemary Mac Cabe

Anna Paquin in shocking nude panel outrage!

In all seriousness, the premiere of the fourth season of HBO’s True Blood was on in the US of A at the weekend, and Fash Mob somehow managed to get a sneak peek, and has a lot to say, about the fashion, and about the storylines (or lack thereof). Read on, dear soldiers, and see pictures of Evan Rachel Wood an’ all. Okay, one picture, but still.

(Is it creepy to anyone else that Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer are married in real life? It makes their cringey sex scenes in True Blood even more cringey and intrusive, in my honest opinion.)

Rutina Wesley here plays Tara, and for the love I bore her character in season one, I will refrain from saying anything scathing about her heinous shoes. But I will say (and here’s where the spoiler hits the fan) that series four does not seem to bode well for Tara. Not only has she become a cage fighter (um, hello Ryan in The OC?), she has become – but of course – a lesbian, after her terrible experience with that really hot man whose name I always forget (also, hello Marissa in The OC). Because all lesbians are lesbians because they hate men, obviously.

Um . . . I quite like this. I think those are Louboutins. I quite like this. That’s about all.

Vinnie from Home & Away! Come on, I wasn’t the only one thinking it. And then, because I always leave the best ’til last:

And . . . breathe. What do you think about True Blood? Do you watch it? (If not, why not?!) And if you really want to know all my thoughts on the telly, little-known fact: I do a podcast with my cousin, Roseanne, The Rosie View.

Hello Rosemary, I saw the premiere of True Blood this past weekend and as an extra treat they have released episode 2 early because of the 4th of July holiday. I will not give anything away because I am not sure when you will get to see it in Ireland. I have to say this, I am a loyal fan of the show and the book series it is based. I can honestly say I do not know what the big deal is over Stephen Moyer and Anna Paquin, for me the supporting characters are alot more interesting. I like Rutina Wesley (Tara), Chris Bauer (Andy), Sam Trammel (Sam), Kristin Stratten (Pam), Nelsan Ellis (Lafayette) and the young girl whose name I cannot think of that plays the hilarious Jessica. My favorites though are Ryan Kwantan (Jason), Joe Maganello (Alcide), and of course Alexander Skarsgaard (Eric).

This season is based on the 4th book in the series Dead to the World, I highly recommend this one because it sets up all future action in this series, but I will say Alan Ball has gone his own way sometimes. I hope you enjoy it when you get the chance to see it.

Your last picture there pretty much answers the question of whether I watch True Blood, and why…

TB sometimes just seems to be a vehicle [said in the Garda way] for Anna P to show off her bosoms. As in “look, no more piano for me … I’m all woman”.
    Otherwise , it’s not a bad series.

Ah, I’m in the grand old US of A atm, and I have seen not one but the first two episodes. Queue more sex scenes, wiccans, cage fighters, werepanthers and a weird fairyland intro! I have read the books also, I’m not sure if you have – but if you’re familiar with the book where eric looses his memory . . . ahem, i say no more shhhhh…..

also, ALSO, Alexander Skarsgard (sp) is in this months vogue US, the one with emma watson on the cover. YAYs!

Cacamilis @ 3, you are right about Anna P showing what she has, but truthfully who is looking at her? She is what we call in the States a Butter face (as in everything but her face), not very cute. I, personally am checking out Ryan Kwantan’s killer abs, Alexander Skarsgaard’s rearend, and all of that total hunk Joe Maganello(the hot werewolf Alcide), Anna is not the only one who takes it all off on the show. The show is well written, but sometimes deviates from the books. I have to say it does creep me out a little that Anna and Stephen (Sookie + Bill) are married in reality because it can at times make the show feel more like soft core porn, and the viewers like peeping toms.

TWO WORDS, ERIC and ALCIDE –

Seriously though does Ryan Kwanten look a bit sick in that photo – like he’s afraid to eat a bit of fat in case his abs disappear, when you get to a certain age you do need to choose your belly or your face! and seriously what the hell is he wearing (since this is a fashion blog) those Chnos and thhe jacket look like two different outfits!
And Stephen Moyer needs to button up one more shirt button – and Anna Paquin’s dress looks like something Toni Braxton would have worn in the nineties.

    Still Love True Blood though
