So Littlewoods Ireland had its A/W preview press show the other night in Fallon & Byrne. I’ve heard it’s a great night, although I’ve never managed to make it to one of them, and the fashion on this night was, if not mind-blowing, subtly impressive. What do I mean? A hint of 1970s, a hint of 1920s (Boardwalk Empire, anyone?), a little Moroccan boudoir and a lot of wearable items, if the catwalk pics are anything to go by.

I’m a big fan of this floor-length strapless white / silver number, although I’m not sure how A/W it is really. I wish I had a white wedding to go to, and I could wear this! (Were I, you know, 6 foot something.)

This outfit to me is very Boardwalk Empire. It looks, on first glance, like a 1920s-style flapper dress, although it’s actually a top and city shorts, and eerily office appropriate for something that initially reminded me of a speakeasy.

I love these cute cover-ups: so perfect for winter, although the cape (above) does have me wondering about one’s forearms. What happens when one gets cold? Are they designed to be worn over a long-sleeved top? Or with long gloves? Won’t that look funny? Won’t someone for the love of God think of the arms?!
