I’ll make a shock confession. I haven’t bought much on Asos in a while. Actually, I haven’t bought much anywhere in a while, due to a combination of financial distress and sartorial fatigue. I’ve also been doing a lot of eBaying (or recouping my losses, thank you very much – check out this handy how-to guide by yours truly by the way!) and donating to charity shops, in an attempt to clear out my parents’ house for, you know, them. So buying clothes hasn’t been high up on my list of priorites.
(Furthermore, I’m currently in the hands of a personal trainer and working towards running the marathon series and kind of trying to achieve certain personal physical goals before I invest in any clothing that may nor may not fit me in three months’ time.)
But I digress! Because the point is, ASOS White‘s summer 2011 collection has launched, and it’s a gem.
The emphasis of the collection is on simple, solid cuts and decent fabrics. Now, the A/W collection was also high up on my list but didn’t sell very well, so I’m not sure if these kinds of Cos-alike sculptural cuts are as popular with the mainstream as fashion folks might think they are – what do you think?
In any case the summer collection is gorgeous. Colour-blocking, sweet candy silk shorts, loose peg-legged trousers and clean fabrics = yum. I’m going on a foreign trip on Sunday and I would love to add a few of these pieces to my collection. However, I have high hopes for finding some gems in a Turkish market while I’m abroad, so I’m holding out!
LOVE these trousers. I know, I know, so Dynasty! But also so 2011!
This is a gorgeous mac. Seriously, once you buy a mac you will never go . . . eh . . . you’ll never change your mind. (Not wanting to get overly enthusiastic with the rhyming.)
Also seriously drooling over these shorts. White T-shirt, white mannish shirt, brogues? No? Just me?
