I’m not quite sure what the plus stands for, but I felt like writing “competition winners” as the title to a post would leave  us all wanting more. I’m sorry I’ve been AWOL; to be honest I blame the comedown from the Royal Wedding brilliance, not to mention the Met Ball overload. Honestly my cup truly runneth over.

Yesterday (to procrastinate slightly longer before announcing the winners of the fabulous Body Shop bits ‘n’ pieces* – one each, mind you) I attended the launch of Buy My Dress, a charity initiative supporting Down Syndrome Centre in which famous and non-famous people donate their worn and unworn dresses, which are then auctioned in aid of DSC. Síle Seoige, whom I love despite her indiscretion re Kylie (let’s move on now, shall we?) MCed and was charming and gorgeous in red (it’s sponsored by Special K so red was the order of the day) and goody bags contained nail varnish (which I’m giving away, at some stage in the next few days, to someone who comments in a style that pleases me – go mad!) and cereal (which I already gave away, to my neighbour, as my personal trainer – I love being able to say I have a personal trainer, even if it’s only temporary – has me off wheat and, you know, everything nice).

So without further ado, the winners! Numbers 52 (Noelle Jagana), 11 (Mag), 15 (SJ), 42 (Eimear) and 12 (Ruth). Keep an eye on your inboxes for an email from me demanding your address – or beat me to the punch, rmaccabe [at] irishtimes.com. Happy Friday!

Anyway it’s a great idea, and you can drop your unwanted gowns in to selected Credit Unions, Unislim centres and Peter Marks all over the country. See here for a list of drop-off points. The sale itself takes place on Saturday, May 28th.

* It’s always very heartening to see a high number of comments on a competition post, because it means loads of you are reading! Even if you don’t comment all the time. But you should! Tell me your innermost thoughts; I’m here to listen and, you know, witter on incomprehensibly.
