I wonder when the GG crew go out, do they get together beforehand in a circle, link hands and pray that little Jenny Humphrey won’t turn up and upstage them all?! I bet they do. In any case, out they were, at the Met Ball this past week, looking all made up and put together, and not a little bit, well, bizarre.

As the Fug Girls point out (and you really should be reading their Met Ball coverage – if you’re not, you’re missing out), young Jessica here looks, well, a bit old. Not to mention mad, with the matching dress ‘n’ shoes decision. My confusion always stems from the fact that Jessica’s character, Vanessa, aside from being heinously judgmental and worthy, dresses in quite an offbeat fashion, so when I see her dressing so “straight”, well, I get a fright.

Leighton Meester, again, veers dangerously away from her character’s prim ‘n’ proper dress sense on the red carpet, and in a way, praise Jesus! In another way, please, can’t we all stop cutting off our ankles with those enormous shoes? Aside from the fact that I don’t think Leighton’s very classic hair and make-up match the bondage aspect of her dress, I don’t hate it. You?

And finally, it’s Blake Lively! With Paul Rudd! I love this photograph. Is she going, “look, I have scented nail polish on”? Or is she going, “kiss my hand, you lowly man-servant”? And where is the rest of her dress? So many questions, so few answers . . .
