This is just typical. Right as I am phasing out my own ginger tones and moving towards a more subtle brunette / blonde combo – hairdresser James Brown recently told me that women should have figured out what suits them by the age of 25, for shame – Blake Lively, my idol, although not for her mouth-closed acting, goes ginger. Sigh.

Is it just me or is this tone oddly – albeit nicely – reminiscent of Amy Adams, or (and this may just be because I have been listening to the Disney Modern Classics album for 48 hours on the trot) Ariel from The Little Mermaid?

I’m sure we’re all supposed to say that Blake looks better as a blonde, but I actually love this look. It may be the mixture of ginger and turquoise (always gorgeous) that’s selling me on it, but I think it slightly downplays Blake’s sex appeal, and let’s face it, she’s not someone who ever plays it subtle. She definitely looks really beautiful, but slightly more . . . dare I say interesting than before? What say ye?
