I went through a period (just check out my blogroll) of reading as many daily style blogs as possible – but it began to approach a certain level of saturation and I gave up my aul’ sins and went back to street style and, of course, The Cut. Recently I’ve started to reintroduce some street style into my life – but mainly of the amazingly photographed varieties such as Sea of Shoes and The Glamourai.
There are, however, two fairly regular (apart from, you know, the invitations to New York fashion week) street style blogs that have been top of the list on my blogroll for a couple of weeks and continue to inspire me with interesting yet achievable looks. First up? The Blonde Salad, which I was tipped off about by the fabulous Stephen Moloney’s blog.
Chiara seems to lead rather a charmed life, being photographed around the streets of Milan (when she’s not at NY Fashion Week or getting private tours of designers’ studios) – but she does so in fairly slick clothing, a lot of which is high-street (behold her Cos dress above – I need it). She also has a YSL ring collection worth killing for.
Then there’s Lucy Laucht, another tip-off, this time by Ciara. Lucy seems to own every item of clothing I wish I owned; or, rather, everything I see on her, I want (I was always, says my mother, a very envious child). She puts things together in an interesting, quirky, cool but not necessarily on-trend way, which is, I think an indicator of a truly stylish person, rather than a follower of fashion. LOVE.
