Am I the only person who can’t even think about Dr Martens without thinking of My So-Called Life? The two are intrinsically linked: beat-up Doc Martens with flannel gingham shirts, home-dyed hair and that awkward, gangly teenage attitude of Angela Chase . . .
Anyway these latest designs from Dr Martens, via Fabfrocks, are a great combination of girly and tough, sweet and sharp – I love the idea of pairing them with floral dresses and cool pastel tights, or acid wash jeans and oversized shirts or blazers . . . very Sartorialist, don’t you think? (I wish!)
