What I bought last week, the depression edition

I went into town yesterday with one sole purpose: to purchase an iPhone 4. For hilarity, watch this (as an aside):
In any case, all’s I wanted was an iPhone 4 – and did anyone have it? No, they did not. The O2 store even has a nice little sign “iPhone 4s out of stock”, just to save them the hassle of having to actually speak to you, and the Carphone Warehouse is also out of stock, but offered me one on 3 (being locked into O2 makes my heart cry).
So. Once I’d finished my raging about the lack of iPhone 4s in the whole country, I decided to console myself with a trip to Warehouse, which has long been my go-to for guaranteed cheering. Why? Because they do great stuff, they fit me, and seeing as their website only ships in Ireland in euro, there’s no point in shopping online and it’s one of the few stores I actually feel forced into going into.
Well you can colour me disappointed. I tried on about five things, two of them trousers, neither of which fit past my thighs. And this wasn’t a crazy trying-to-fit-into-a-size-8 moment; I know my size. I know that sometimes I’m a little bigger, other times a little smaller, but I know that I’m not entirely delusional. I did manage to pick up a gorgeous floral jacket, that reminded me of a DKNY jacket from last Spring/Summer (top right in photo, below).
I then lost the grá for clothing and took a detour into Brown Thomas, to replace my by-now-falling-apart wallet, and opted for a gorgeous leather and suede number by See by Chloé. I then wandered over to the Nars counter and picked up some Orgasm blush, about which I’d heard much about, and some matt lipstick in Funny Face. The blush is quite nice and peachy, but, despite the name, it’s not quite doing it for me. The lipstick, on the other hand, I love – and has thus far survived two coffees and scrambled eggs and mushrooms in Carluccio’s.
Then I replenished my Lola supplies – this perfume is gorgeous, really fresh and fruity and, though I hate the word, girly. My only gripe is with the packaging; the rose is all well and good upon first glance, but try putting that baby into your handbag, or even balancing it on an already-packed dresser.
So, what did you buy this weekend? Have you had any size issues with high street stores recently? Tell me all.
