Once again, my obsession with florals rears its ugly head on a trip to A|Wear on Grafton St (which now has a nifty new shoe section in its underbelly; not all my cup of tea, but I’d imagine it’s a learning curve). I headed in with a friend one evening after work, when we had planned to go to the cinema but then got a bit lazy and decided to hit up the shops before heading home to watch 90210. For shame.

This is a little bit of a cheat, because I didn’t buy the green dress on the top left, despite my wanting to. There was only one remaining, and it was in a size bigger than I needed, and while I don’t feel like wrap dresses need to be exactly the right size, it just looked a little sloppy, which is a pity. I then saw a girl on Grafton St wearing it and felt a little – a lot – jealous. Looked great on her. It’s a really interesting colour; I don’t think this kind of mint green is worn enough, and it was so huge on A/W 2010 catwalks that it’s really the time to experiment with it.

The two tops are for work – we have a casual dress code, but sometimes I like to feel a little more put together than Converse and white T-shirts, so having a nice blouse is always a good go-to. I pair mine with skinny jeans and flat pumps or straight-legged jeans and heels (skinny jeans + heels on me = all too often, an upside-down triangle).

Then onto Topshop. I saw this amazing clutch bag in the Grafton St store, but couldn’t bring myself to fork out the €53 on it when it was only £35 online, so I hopped on the site that evening when I got home and, as I dislike ordering just one thing (think of the carbon emissions!), I ordered an umbrella (nyeh, it’s fine, but I’m sure it won’t survive a strong wind and, as it’s not the foldy-up type, I have yet to lug it home from the office), a pair of flats (which are lovely, and really comfy, which is unusual as I normally have to break in flats) and this great sheer navy lightning-strike top. My only gripe with it is that it’s very boxy in shape, and quite short – it might even be a going-out top, to pair with jeans and a bodysuit underneath, to prevent exposure of the I-think-I’m-16-and-living-in-Malibu midriff.
