Here’s Jean Paul Gaultier‘s collection for Hermès, shown during Paris Fashion Week on October 6th. I could wax lyrical for paragraphs about Hermès‘s traditional legacy, the workmanship that goes into their leather goods, the luxury that is the French powerhouse’s signature, but instead I’ll say: I’m not a huge fan. I don’t love the Birkin (fashion sacrilege!), I don’t adore the scarves (although, as a gift, I’d take one), and my favourite thing about the brand is the Kelly Calèche eau du parfum. I’m fully prepared to be relegated to the unfashionable ranks for this, but tell me: what do you think of the Holy Grail of high-fashion labels?
