This Friday sees the launch in all BT2 stores of the Peter Pilotto range of bags for Kipling - and, prepare for a shock, because the European duo behind the Peter Pilotto brand are definitively bringing the backpack back.

The range comes in two prints, machine (above) and galaxy, which is a softer, more astrological print (unsurprisingly). PP is known for beautiful, intricate screen prints, so this collaboration, which sees Kipling venture down a more avantgarde route and PP join hands with a slightly more traditional brand, has trademarks of each all over it.

BT2 this morning sent me a sample bag – and I can tell you for nothing that, quality-wise, it’s definitely good value for money (prices start at €40). The lining and finish are very Kipling, and the bag I received (a tote, in machine print) is roomy enough to carry all my daily necessities, and then some more. I’m even considering investing in the humboldt backpack (above) in galaxy print for those days when shoulder straps just won’t cut it . . .
