I love the Jervis Centre. There, I said it. I know it’s a little unfashionable to like shopping on the northside, when Grafton St has American Apparel, Ted Baker, Tommy Hilfiger and assorted other overpriced imports, but my heart truly belongs north of the Liffey – and that’s not just because it has the two best Penneys in the country, and Easons always stops Pop and Love magazines.

It’s because the teenagers are less well-dressed. It’s because the Topshop is less overheated than that on Stephen’s Green; because the air is that little bit fresher, coloured with the language of street traders selling strawberries and underpriced cherries. And it’s because it’s got Miss Selfridge and Dorothy Perkins. Because it will soon have New Look and Forever 21. And this month, in case you were in doubt, Jervis St Centre is running a promotion each Saturday, with fashion shows, DJs and, generally, a bit of craic.

Laffly Irish models! What did I say?! Ain’t they swell? Anyway, hotfoot it down to Jervis this Saturday for the last in the August series, where there’s bound to be more going on than on the saff-side, innit?
