Burberry Prorsum’s A/W 2010 presentation gave us all the hint that shearling was going to be big big big this season, and there have been no disappointments on that front. From Rick Owens‘ shearling butter-soft leather jacket to Topshop’s instant sell-out. Here are just two shearling beauties that are whetting my appetite for all things cool and autumnal:

Burberry’s shearling boots, via Design Scene (can you tell that I’m having a bit of a Design Scene moment of late?), which I love in spite of the fact that they really remind me of those Alexander Wang boots I bought and wore all of twice . . .

Then there’s this shearling aviator-style leather jacket (from Asos), that I purchased last week and arrived today. It’s really nice in the real world, and not as shiny as it looks on the website . . . a little small-fitting, I’d say, but looks great with both jeans and dresses, so that’s always a plus.

Anyway, I’m under no illusions that this shearling love just came to be: magazines and the internet told me it was the next big thing, and down the rabbit-hole I went. I managed to resist when it came to bodycon, but when it comes to fluffy sheepskin and leather, what could be more practical?!
