These are slick. I can’t think of too many more words to describe them, although “extortionate” might be thrown in there for good measure. At between $600 and $700 a pop at “Converse speciality stores” (read: not Office), they’re not going to be anyone’s summer or winter staple. Still, let’s admire the handiwork, shall we?

Designed by Ryusaku Hiruma, there will only be 64 pairs in each of two men’s styles, using old-style construction techniques, meaning these aren’t going to be coming down an assembly line at any stage in their inception.

Still, as far as I’m concerned, they’d want to be hand-stitched by Oompa-Loompas and have the ability to iron clothes to be worth $600. Although, that said . . . they are slick. I’m torn. Ridiculous or amazing? Have at it…

And oh, this might be a little Shmitten Kitten of me, but I think that if I saw a man sporting these, if I didn’t immediately think he was an idiot with too much money, I might propose marriage. What? I’m shallow like that, and a sucker for a good pair of trainers.
