Miki Barlok is a Slovakian photographer who’s been living and working in Ireland for four years. With a background in architecture, I think a lot of his photographs show a really strong attention to the structure of the picture within the photograph, of the design of the image.

Barlok says he likes “to look at the world in a different way”, and that in his photography he always tries to get feelings across – to get mood into his photographs, which I think he’s really successful at, especially in this selection of brooding, atmospheric shots.
