This is exactly the kind of preppy attire I would dress myself in, if I weren’t entirely committed to wearing dresses and floral fabrics 24/7 – something I am trying to change, although the next post today hasn’t convinced me . . . but I digress.

I honestly love everything about this. The styling reminds me a little of Dace (do you remember them?), but there’s something so effortlessly chic about it – plus, brogues and girly fabrics are just the kind of random juxtaposition one needs on a sunny Thursday morning.

With summer a-coming, it’s these kinds of cool separates that could make up the working wardrobe for a very well-dressed young woman – crisp cotton jackets, soft tailored shorts . . . I would recommend changing the shoes up for a more wearable look (am imagining tan wedges, or some form of chunky heel), and they would look equally stunning with a more “done” hairdo than shown above.

Breton & peg-leg trousers = brilliance. And I hate to say it, but doesn’t it all remind you of a cool, work-appropriate Alexa Chung?
