    New tattoos . . .

    Rosemary Mac Cabe

Here’s the gorgeous Blanaid Hennessy, in an amazing shoot in Shutterbug, the new Kilkenny studio she’s set up with her brother, photographer Eoin Hennessy. The pictures were taken by the super-talented Ciuin Tracey, with post-production by Blanaid, where she ’shopped in those amazing tattoos.

I absolutely love the juxtaposition of the pared-down fashion and the over the top floral tattoos – tattoos, by their very nature, are pretty tough, but the meandering floral patterns make these ones just on the right side of feminine, in my view. Inspiration for some new ink, I think . . .

Look gorgeous they’d be lovely if they were temporary tats that could be put on by an appliqué. Always think the trouble with real ones is you don’t think forward when getting them and the fact that when yer 60 you might well look more like Biffo Bacon’s ma than a silk purse.

The woman just said they were photoshopped onto the image. Besides do you think good looking people with tattoos are that bothered how they’ll look in their 60’s? Never did Keef Ritchards any harm…

I love these images, all the shoots that Blanaid does are stunning. The new photography studio sounds amazing too, can’t wait to see it.
