Bono, God’s favourite son, appears on the May 2010 issue of French Vogue. Now, I will admit to having experienced a lot of involuntary eye rolling, oh, for the last 10 years whenever his name was mentioned – but last weekend I saw a comedian, Gearoid Farrelly, who made the point that “everyone loves to hate Bono – because he makes good music and helps poor people”, and I felt a little sheepish. (Farrelly, as an important aside, was hilarious, and has given me countless jokes with which to entertain my easily-entertained auld pair.)

It’s a pretty eye-catching cover, in a sea of heavily photoshopped blonde women wearing neutrals – so much so that I have determined, following my disappointment with the other magazines I bought recently, to go out at lunch and fetch it from Easons.

In other news, doesn’t Kelly Osbourne look great? And no, not because she’s lost four stone – because she’s smiling and I love her hair and she seems thrilled, despite the fact that she’s standing next to an odd Hanson waxwork. Now, as you were.
