New-Zealand based brand Lonely Hearts has just released their latest lookbook – a soft, sheer collection of separates and swingy spring dresses, toughened up with dashes of tweed and the odd sliver of skin.

There’s something very schoolgirl-dressed-up-in-Mummy’s-clothes about the collection, and while making women look like children is not high on my list of must-dos, the pieces from Lonely Hearts manage to do that while maintaining an edgy grown-up feel.

They’re also something I could see the hipster girls of now – Alexa, Pixie, Peaches (poor Peaches) – wearing out to do the shopping: directional clothing, but not too avant-garde.

What’s further delighting me? The awkward model angles that I imagine have Tyra drooling in her sleep: there’s a certain nonchalance to both the styling and the modelling that really conveys the casual-cool ethos of the brand.
