There’s something so refreshing about denim and white – but this is given a big twist, with the addition of some mega studs and a DIY Chanel symbol. Le freak, c’est chic! I’ve seen a good bit of stud DIYing going on around the “blogosphere” lately, and it doesn’t seem to be the most difficult of tasks, as long as you don’t value your fingers too highly. The Chanel thing is genius; I’m just sorry I didn’t think of it first, because I have a variety of white T-shirts and vests that I would love to emblazon with markered interlocking Cs.

(Perhaps, she thinks, a moment too late, I shouldn’t have blogged about it; then, none of my friends or family would know it wasn’t my idea, except Ciara.)

This is really the epitome of what I think of as style – getting a really classic look (denim and white) and putting your own stamp on it (in this case, literally). Fashion sometimes seems twee and vacuous, but other times I get inspired by people’s ideas, and the notion that you can have fun with fashion, rather than taking it all as seriously as Kaiser Karl does.
