At this point in the fantasy premier league season it is quite simply all or nothing and with many fantasy managers sure to have Gareth Bale in their side perhaps it’s time to think outside the box when it comes to Tottenham coverage.
While there is no doubting that Bale has been a fantasy favourite of ours this season and for good reason, two blanks in his last two outings have not gone down well among the fantasy fraternity and it may be time for a change.
With Tottenham still in the hunt for Champions League football next season they need a win this weekend and from that point of view Tottenham coverage this weekend is vital for any manager still in the hunt at the top.
Clint Dempsey is the man that could well top Bale this weekend from a fantasy points perspective, the former Fulham man has had a rather quiet season by his standards but he has certainly sprung into life in the last few weeks.
Having picked up a goal and an assist last time out Dempsey’s place in the Spurs side for this weekend’s clash with Sunderland at White Hart Lane looks assured and with it all to play for he could well prove once again this week to be a valuable differential.
With Sunderland now assured of safety after Wigan were relegated on Tuesday night at the Emirates they in truth will have little to play for and given the fact that they have conceded eight goals in three games Tottenham should win out comfortably and Dempsey will hopefully get a chance to add to his seven goals and six assists this season.
