Mancini Might Be Gone But Kompany Still A Force

The breaking news this morning of Roberto Mancini’s departure from Manchester City will certainly have fantasy premier league managers thinking long and hard about investing in City for their final two games, but rather than avoiding them it may be wise to invest in the City line up.

With 11 clean sheets to his credit Kompany could add another two before the season is out.

City go into the final fixture week of the Irish Times Fantasy Premier League campaign with two games left to play and for fantasy managers the prospect of a double fixture week is still something to be considered.

City take on Reading this evening at the Madejski before welcoming Norwich to the Eithad and with City looking to put their defeat in the F.A Cup final behind them we are backing the clubs captain for a big performance.

Vincent Kompany was dropped last week when City took on West Brom leaving those invested in him rather disappointed that he was not part of the side that picked up a clean sheet against the Baggies.

With Brian Kidd now set to take charge for the final two games of the season it is likely that he will want to field the strongest side available to him as he looks to take all six points on offer.

The first game against the Royals certainly throws up the prospect of a clean sheet, Reading of course are already relegated and despite the fact that they have come to life over the last two weeks they will certainly struggle to breach the City defence.

The last game of the season on Sunday against Norwich is another that could well bring another clean sheet, City will be keen to put on a good show for the home support and we fancy both City and Kompany to pick up another clean sheet at home on Sunday.
