As we prepare for the final week of the fantasy premier league news this morning that Manchester City have move to relieve Roberto Mancini of his post as the clubs manager will certainly have fantasy fantasy managers thinking long and hard about investing in City for the final week.

That news aside it is business as usual as fantasy managers look to secure those final points that could see them crowned fantasy champions for the 2012/13 season.

With the final fixture week kicking off this evening when the aforementioned Manchester City travel to the Madejski Stadium to take on Reading and Wigan take on Arsenal at the Emirates it’s time for us to take a look at some defensive prospects that could well bring in some much needed clean sheet points.

Vincent Kompany (Manchester City) £5.2 million Fixtures: Reading (Away) & Norwich (Home)

The breaking news this morning of Roberto Mancini’s departure from Manchester City will certainly have fantasy premier league managers thinking long and hard about investing in City for their final two games, but rather than avoiding them it may be wise to invest in the City line up.

Glen Johnson (Liverpool) £4.2 million Fixture: QPR (Home)

While silverware has once again eluded Liverpool this season the Reds have finished the season strongly and for fantasy managers that is what it is all about heading into the last week of the season.

Jan Vertonghen (Tottenham) £4.1 million Fixture: Sunderland (Home)

Well the final round of the fantasy premier league season is here and the race for the final Champions League spot has come down to the wire with both Tottenham and Arsenal still in the hunt.

Phil Jones (Manchester United) £4.8 million. Fixture: West Brom (Away)

After last weekend’s send off at Old Trafford for Sir Alex Ferguson Manchester United will want to give him a win in his 1500 game in charge of the league champions against West Brom this weekend.
