In last week’s midfielders tips we spoke about how the return of Hatem Ben Arfa to the Newcastle side could prove beneficial for both the Magpie’s and fantasy managers alike and once again we were on the money.
Having made a return to the first team despite not being fully fit the Frenchman was handed another starting as Newcastle took on QPR at Loftus Road on Sunday.
Ben Arfa started in the support role just behind Papiss Cisse last week but was moved to the right flank for the trip to QPR, with Alan Pardew shifting Yoan Gouffran to a central position behind the Senegal striker.
Ben Arfa bagged the equaliser from the spot after Loic Remy had handed the hosts the lead, and Gouffran grabbed the winner as the Toon Army assured their survival with one game to go.
With a home game against Arsenal to see out the season, the Magpies can at least enjoy a pressure-free occasion as a hugely underwhelming season draws to a close.
With no pressure on the magpie’s Ben Arfa could be rested again as he tries to shake off the hamstring injury that has blighted his season and with Arsenal in need of the three points it may not be wise to count on Ben Arfa for a repeat performance this weekend.
