Phil Jones has not quite made the impact at Old Trafford this season that he would have hoped for last August. Despite this the young Englishman has played the last six games for Manchester United in the Premier League. During this period Jones has picked up two assists and two clean sheets.
The Manchester United defender was unlucky not to add to this tally against Chelsea with a late Juan Mata shot deflecting off his knee into the net past the scrambling Anders Lindergaard.
His place in the starting eleven looks nailed on as Rafael is suspended due to the red card he was correctly dealt against Chelsea on Sunday afternoon. This means we will likely see Jones playing right back which will give him ample opportunity to get forward and add to his assists total for the season.
Manchester United’s last two games are against Swansea and West Brom which are two games that they will be looking to collect clean sheets from.
