Michu has a cup winners medal, seventeen goals and three Premier League Assists to his name, what an incredible debut season

Michu’s prolific first season in the Premier League has come to a minor premature end as the Spaniard was subbed off in the 68th minute of Swansea’s draw against Manchester City. His manager Michael Laudrup has confirmed that he will have no further part in proceedings this season.

“He has a hamstring problem. I am not sure if he has torn it but, even if it is less than that, I think that this will be his last game of the season.”

Michu has been the name on all fantasy premier league managers lips since the opening day of the season when he bagged a brace and an assist against Mark Hughes QPR side.

Nine months later and the Spaniard has a Carling Cup winners medal to his name along with seventeen goals and three assists in the Premier League. There were a number of stand out performances but the one that leads the way must be his late winner at the Emirates against Arsenal. The finish was sublime and all of us at the managers office are hoping we see him in the Premier League next season.

Roberto Mancini has stated that Manchester City were 20 short of competing to retain their Premier League title, could Michu be the answer at the Eastlands?
