Fantasy Football: Captain’s Tips For Round 36 Of The Fantasy Premier League

Friday, May 3rd, 2013 at 8:55 am by Phil Mc Grath

Having published our thoughts on the top players for you to be considering ahead of round 35 our attention now turns to that all important captain decision and as every fantasy manager knows the right decision can make all the difference.

With only three weeks to go until the end of the season those fantasy managers chasing down the leaders are going to have to be braver than usual this week if they are to close the gap, but luckily our coaches understand the need to be bold at this time of the season and have come up with three options some riskier than the others depending on your need.

The first name on the list has to be the somewhat safe option of Gareth Bale, the Tottenham midfielder has been in fantastic form of late despite the fact that in recent weeks we have seen him move from his more advanced midfield role to being set either out wide left or even out wide right. It would seem that regardless of where he plays he just can’t stop scoring and we expect the same from him again this weekend against Southampton at White Hart Lane.

Christian Benteke makes another welcomed return to our captain tips this week after being tipped last weekend he went on to pick up a hat-trick against Sunderland and we are backing him once again this week when Villa make the trip to Carrow Road to take on Norwich. Three points for the Villains this weekend is a must and with Benteke being in such good form and having already contributed to over 50% of Villa’s goals this season he will have to be at his best if they are to get the three points they so badly need.

The last name on our list is West Brom’s Romelu Lukaku, the Baggies front man has been in great form since the turn of the year and has scored or assisted in 10 of his last 13 appearances. West Brom welcome under pressure Wigan to the Hawthorns this weekend and despite the fact that the Baggies season is all but over and they have nothing left to play for they still went out and duly picked off Southampton 3-0 last weekend and with Wigan’s defence not exactly up to scratch Lukaku is sure to get chances, but it must be said this is by far the riskiest captain tip of all as we all know on any give day the Latics can come out fighting and really surprise us all.

Bale is bang on form heading into round 36, will he get your armband this weekend?
