Having been out of the City starting eleven for the six weeks Sergio Aguero final got the nod to start last weekend’s game against West Ham at the Etihad and he duly replied with a goal and in truth should have had more than the one on the day.
Aguero’s return to the City line up now gives fantasy managers a bit of a headache, with Carlos Tevez previously looking like the best option for fantasy managers looking to invest in the City attack his blank last weekend may cause a few to turn coats.
Despite Aguero’s recent absence his has still managed three goals in his last seven appearances and with three of those coming from the bench his stats don’t look so bad.
There is no doubting that he has failed to find the type of form that saw him notch up 23 goals last season, but then again City as a whole haven’t rediscovered that type of form either.
City travel to Wales this weekend to take on Swansea and as we have previously suggested the Swans look to have one eye on the summer break with their season effectively over.
While many managers may be tempted to look elsewhere this weekend for a striker it is worth noting that City will play twice in round 37 and with Aguero making a goal scoring return to the first team he looks odds on to retain his place until the end of the season.
