Walcott’s Back On The Radar For Round 36

Wednesday, May 1st, 2013 at 2:08 pm by Phil Mc Grath

It has been quite some time since we have seen Theo Walcott make an appearance in our midfield tips section, in fact it seems that since he signed his new contract with the Gunners his performances have dropped.

Having picked up his first goal since round 24 Walcott will be keen to continue scoring when Arsenal travel to QPR this weekend.

Having missed out round 31 and 32 through injury Walcott’s return to the Arsenal starting team has been tentative but having played his first full 90 minutes last weekend he picked up his first goal since round 24.

With Olivier Giroud still suspended Walcott is sure to get forward in an attempt to support Lukas Podolski as the Gunners look to seal a Champions League spot for next season.

Arsene Wenger’s men make the short trip across London to face the already relegated QPR at Loftus Road on Saturday and with the R’s down and out this one should see the Gunner pick up the much needed three points to keep the pressure on Tottenham and Chelsea.

The R’s defensive line has been less than impressive and with Christopher Samba currently out of action due to an illness he absence from the QPR team could see them struggle to contain Walcott and co.

Outside of next weekend’s game Arsenal finish the season against Fulham and Newcastle and, with Walcott’s eye for goal restored, he has the potential to flourish as Arsene Wenger’s in-form side look to nail down a third place finish.
