There is no arguing that Gareth Bale has been one, if not the most influential players in the fantasy premier league this season, the Tottenham midfielder has brought in a huge amount of fantasy points and that trend looks set to continue.
The season looked to be over for Bale after he was stretchered off in the dying seconds of Tottenham’s 2-2 draw against Basle in the Europa League after David Degen stood on the 23-year-old’s standing ankle.
But thankfully for both Spurs and fantasy managers the injury was not as bad as first feared and Bale made a return to the Tottenham line up last weekend as they over come Manchester City at While Hart Lane.
Once again Bale was highly influential as Tottenham came from behind to beat City 3-1, with the Welsh international picking up a goal and an assist for his efforts.
Interestingly enough however it was a switch from his more central midfield role to the wing that seemed to unlock the City defence and we have to wonder will AVB opt to play him out wide again this weekend.
Tottenham travel to Wigan this weekend with the Latic’s knowing that anything less than a win could detrimental to their premier league survival. Wigan of course are famed for the ability to get out of tight spots come the end of the season, but this one may just be too tight, even for them.
Regardless of the result and Bale position on the pitch be it out wide or in that position behind the striker he is sure to be thorn in Wigan’s side and most certainly will get chances to convert and looks to be a real must have this weekend.
