Fantasy Football Tips: Monday’s Managers Notes

Monday, April 22nd, 2013 at 11:01 am by Phil Mc Grath

Well to say it was an interesting weekend of fantasy action would be an understatement and it’s not over yet as we await the game between Manchester United and Aston Villa this evening, where a win will see United crowned champions.

Round 34 so far has produced everything we could have hoped for there were plenty of goals, clean sheets and of course incident all of which will have a baring on fantasy proceedings over the coming weeks.

And as usual our coaches have compiled their mangers notes just in case you missed any of the major talking points over the weekend that will surely keep you and your fantasy team in the loop as we approach the final four weeks of the season.

Bale Back With A Bang

To say that Tottenham will have been pleased with Gareth Bales quicker that expected return from an ankle injury in a understatement. The Welshman once again proved pivotal as Spurs came from 1-0 down to beat Manchester City 3-1 at the Lane on Sunday.

Sessegnon Continues To Inspire Sunderland

Sunderland’s 3-0 win over Newcastle in round 33 took quite a few fantasy premier league managers by surprise given their poor run of form prior to the appointment of Paolo Di Canio but having seen off Everton 1-0 over the weekend their looks to be real value in the Black Cat’s line up.

Suarez Faces Ban For Biting

Well it would seem that once again Luis Suarez is back in the headlines for all the wrong reasons after he decided to take a bite out of Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic at Anfield on Sunday.

Arsenal Back Line Produces Another Clean Sheet

There is nothing like a good run of results to keep the critics off your back and having been subject to some heavy criticism the Gunners recent run of form will have pleased their somewhat under fire manager Arsene Wenger.

Southampton Continue To Rise In The Rankings

There is no doubting at this point in the season Southampton’s escape from the relegation battle is well and truly done. Mauricio Pochettino has done what he was brought in to do and dragged the Saints up the table.

Carroll Hammers Home Advantage

It has been quite some time since fantasy premier league managers have any faith in the abilities of Andy Carroll and for good reason, the West Ham striker has not hit the heights he would have hoped for when he made the move from Newcastle to Liverpool.

Lukaku’s Not Done Yet

Romelu Lukaku’s time at West Brom has been rather productive as far as the Baggies are concerned and with many Chelsea fans calling for the Belgian to come back to Stamford Bridge we may be looking at his last few games at the Hawthorns or are we?
