Swansea were of course one of the teams that did not feature in round 33 of the Irish Times Fantasy Premier League which will have come as a disappointment to meny fantasy managers with funds invested in the Welsh outfit.
The good news is that the Swans are back in action in round 34 and with a home game on the cards against Southampton there could well be value in Michael Laudrup’s men.
One man who immediately springs to mind is the enigmatic Michu, the former Rayo Vallecano player has made a huge impact in the premier league since his arrival last summer and despite having a quiet period he looks to be back to his best.
The 27 year old has picked up an impressive 17 goals this season along with three assists and having managed only two goals in ten appearances prior to round 31, he has made a return to scoring form to net two goals in his last two appearances.
Having had a rest last weekend Swansea and Michu make a return to action this weekend when they welcome the Saints to the Liberty Stadium and despite Pochettino’s side picking up good results in recent weeks their defensive record on the road has not been to solid this season managing only three clean sheets on their travels.
With Michu set to continue in his attacking role up front the value of having a midfielder playing up top can not be underestimated and given his seemingly good run of form of late at £3.9 million it’s a bit of a bargain.
