Friday, April 12th, 2013 at 10:45 am by Phil Mc Grath

Having published our thoughts on the top players for you to be considering ahead of round 33 our attention now turns to that all important captain decision and this week’s decision is getting any easier due to the somewhat shortened fixture week.

Nevertheless there are still quite a few choices for fantasy managers to consider ahead of the impending fixtures. While many managers may look to the obvious choices like van Persie or Suarez our coaches have come up with some alternative suggestions that not only have the potential to deliver but are also good shouts for a differential.

The first man on our list is Arsenal’s Santi Cazorla, the Gunners midfielder has been on form in recent weeks and with a home game on the cards against Norwich he will be keen to add to his four goals and an assist in his last five home appearances. The Canaries defensive record of late on the road has been less than impressive and having conceded six goals in their last three away days Cazorla may well be on hand to add to that tally.

The second player on the list makes his first appearance in our captains tips this season having come to prominence in the last few weeks. Jay Rodriguez has had a huge impact on Southampton’s recent good form having contributed three goals and two assists in his last three games. The Saints welcome West Ham to St Mary’s this weekend and with both sides searching for the elusive three points that would seal their premier league survival this one promises to have plenty of chances for Rodriguez to capitalize on.

The final man on our captain’s short list is Everton’s Marouane Fellaini, the Everton midfielder makes his return to the starting line up having served a two match ban after picking up his tenth yellow of the season in round 30. Prior to his suspension he had picked up a goal and two assits in two games and with QPR making the trip to Merseyside this weekend the big Belgian is sure to chances against an R’s side that have only managed two clean sheets on the road all season.

With four goals and an assist in his last five home games Cazorla form looks good ahead of the visit of Norwich this weekend.
