Having looked somewhat dead and buried only a few weeks ago Aston Villa have given themselves a fighting chance of survival after picking up nine points from a possible 18 on offer.
They now sit in 16th spot two points clear of the drop zone as they prepare to welcome Fulham to Villa Park this weekend and they will be keen to find their fourth win in six all going well.
Once again Christian Benteke has been at the forefront of the Vilains good play the despite speculation over his future at the club the young striker has shown no signs of discontent as he continues to find the back of the net.
Benteke has now netted in his last four games on the trot and there is no doubting that without him Villa would be in a far worse position at this point in the season than they already find themselves in.
As we said Fulham make the trip to the midlands this weekend having lost out 1-0 to Newcastle at James Park last weekend thanks to a last minute Cisse goal and despite the fact that that was there only defeat in their last six they will have a tough task ahead of them against Paul Lambert’s side.
Fulham’s away form has been well documented over recent year and although it has not been as bad this season as in previous years they still lack that cutting edge on the road and their defence seems to struggle too.
The Cottagers have conceded 28 goals on their travels this season and with Benteke in such good form, not to mention the greater need for Villa to find points it looks like we may be about to see him notch up his fifth goal in five games this weekend making him a worth while consideration for your fantasy team.
