Rodgers Counting On Coutinho

There has been much made about Liverpool’s mediocre league campaign this season and while many suporters are not pleased with their current league position their has been some silver lining on their dark cloud.

Coutinho is settling in well at Anfield with a goal and an assists in his last three appearances.

Phillippe Coutinho has been been a gem of a find for Brendan Rodgers in recent weeks and looks certainly to be one for the future if Liverpool are to begin to challenge for the league once again.

The 20 year old Brazilian made the move to Anfield in January from Inter Milan and has slotted in nicely to starting line up and it would seem that Rodgers has him playing some great football in recent weeks.

Since making his first appearance Coutinho has picked up two goals and three assist in seven appearances and after having some time to settle it looks like his fantasy returns may be about to increase.

With a goal and an assist in his last three outings it looks like he has found his feet at Anfield and with a trip to struggling Reading on the cards this weekend I wouldn’t back against him adding to his goalscoring tally.

Reading have the second worst defensive record in the league at home this season picking up only three clean sheets and conceding 31 goals in 16 games, a stat that will surly worry new Royals boss Nigel Adkins.
