Gervinho Makes A Case For Inclusion

Having only registered 17 minutes in the Premier League for the Gunners since the turn of the year Gervinho’s Arsenal career looked to be fading away into oblivion in much the same vein as Chamakh’s but after his recent exploites he looks to be keen on making an impact at the Emirates.

There is no doubting Gervinho is on form, but is his place in the team secure?

When the Ivorian climbed off the bench against Swansea in round 30 the though that we were about to see him go on a run of two goals and three assists in three games could not have been further from our minds, but that is what has happened.

The Arsenal midfielders has been thrust into the Gunners first team in the absence of the injured Walcott and Wilshere and looks set not to waste his opportunity to shine.

The former Lille man was on hand at the weekend to help Arsene Wenger’s secure a 2-1 win against West Brom as he set up another forgotten man Tomas Rosicky for the Gunners opener.

Having picked up two goals and two assist prior to round 32 many fantasy managers opted to take a punt on the Arsenal midfielder ahead of the weekend’s fixtures and after popping up with an assist at the weekend I’m sure many more managers will be considering adopting his services ahead of round 33.

But there is a slight problem ahead of the Gunners impending fixture with Norwich, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has told us that he is rather hopeful of having both Walcott and Wilshere back in time for the visit of the Canaries and if this is true we could see Gervinho back on the bench quicker that you can say Marouane Chamakh.
