Fantasy Football: Captain’s Tips For Round 32 Of The Fantasy Premier League

Friday, April 5th, 2013 at 11:02 am by Paul Caffrey

Having published our thoughts on the top players for you to be considering ahead of round 32 our attention now turns to that all important captain decision and this week’s decision is getting any easier.

Tottenham ace Gareth Bale was the top choice for most Irish Times Fantasy Premier League managers until he got injured against Basel in Europe on Thursday night. This has given most fantasy football managers a decision and transfer to make this weekend.

The first player up for consideration is the leagues top scorer Luis Suarez. The Liverpool striker has been quiet by his standards in recent weeks but with West Ham set to make the trip to Anfield this weekend Suarez will be looking to back on the scoresheet as Liverpool try and close the gap on their Merseyside neighbours. Suarez has 22 goals this season and having failed to score in only one of his last six home games form and fixtures look to be in his favour.

Santi Cazorla is the next man up on our list of captain contenders this weekend when Arsenal travel to the Hawthorns to take on a West Brom side that seem to be running out of steam as the season draws to a close. The Spanish international was on hand last weekend to grab a goal and an assist and having notched up four goals and an assist in his last five games he is right on form heading into this weekend’s game against a Baggies defence that has only managed one clean sheet at home since round 10.

The last man on the list for your consideration is Newcastle’s Moussa Sissoko, the French midfielder has not continued his great start to his Newcastle career over recent weeks but it is worth noting that all of his goals and assists bar one have come at home and given that three of Newcastle’s last four games have been on the road his lean spell can be somewhat justified. Sissoko is back at St James Park and given the Magpie’s need for points we are expecting him to get back to scoring ways at home against Fulham this weekend.

Having failed to register in only one home game in his last six this weekend's return to Anfield should see a return to the scoresheet for Suarez.
