Elliott got an assist against Southampton in his first Premier League game

Former Republic of Ireland Under 19 goalkeeper Rob Elliott has made it into our thinking for round 32 of the Irish Times Fantasy Premier League.

The Newcastle United shot stopper made his Premier League debut against Southampton in February after joining the Magpies in 2011.

Limited game time at Newcastle had kept Elliott off the radar until Tim Krul got injured earlier this year.

Since his introduction Elliott is still looking for his first Clean sheet of the season but did get an assist against Southampton for Papiss Cisse’s wonder goal against the saints.

Elliott is an experienced keeper who played ninety six times for Charlton and with Fulham & Paolo Di Canio’s Sunderland next to play at Newcastle’s stadium he will be looking at collecting his first clean sheet of his Premier League career.
