Van Persie Scored 3 Goals in 2 International Games last week

In Fantasy Football terms, Robin Van Persie has been going through a dry patch as he has only scored one goal in his last six Premier League games. However it hasn’t been all bad news for fantasy football owners of the Dutch master as he has contributed three assists in the same period.

The International break certainly helped Robin Van Persie rediscover his goal scoring form as he scored three goals in two games including a brace against Romania as the Dutch beat them 4-0.

Rotation is a risk that fantasy premier league managers will have to consider if they select RVP this weekend. Sir Alex Ferguson has been discussing the need to keep his team fresh ahead of their FA Cup tie against Chelsea on Monday afternoon.

Looking back at previous international breaks this season Sir Alex has played Van Persie each time he has returned to Manchester United while clearly prioritizing the Premier League and Champions League.

Van Persie completed 90 minutes when he returned to play Real Madrid (Champions League), Reading (Premier League) and played 66 minutes against Norwich (Premier League). The 19 goal man was only roatated for the Quarter Final against Chelsea but still ended coming off the bench to  play 27 minutes.

If Van Persie gets the nod to start upfront against Sunderland he will be expected to deliver goals and those without him will be watching this
